Play Features High School Shooting Survivors and Their Stories

WEST VANCOUVER, B.C. – Seacoast Studios presents FrAcTured, a new play by Robinson Wilson. Running June 19, 21, and 23 at 8:00 pm at the Music Box in West Vancouver at 1564 Argyle Street.

FrAcTured is the story of 13 teenagers who have survived a high-school shooting. This one-hour play is honest, powerful, provocative, surprisingly humorous, relevant, and thoroughly engaging. In a discussion with the cast, Director Scott Swan commented, “In the wake of the large number of violent incidents and lockdowns that have occurred in high schools in North America in the last few years, this play offers the unique opportunity to explore the journey of 13 survivors as they move towards the healing of themselves, their school and their community.”

Scott Swan obtained his M.F.A. in Directing at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He is the Artistic Director of Seacoast Theatre Centre and Principal and Head Teacher of Seacoast Studios. Scott has been a theatre director and teacher for over thirty years, winning numerous awards for his work. He was the Founding Artistic Director of the Kay Meek Centre for the Performing Arts as well as for Northern Light Theatre in Edmonton, and the Artistic Director of Festival Lennoxville in Quebec. Select directing engagements include: The National Arts Centre, The Shaw Festival, Manitoba Theatre Centre, Alberta Theatre Projects, The Citadel Theatre, The Vancouver Playhouse, and Bard on the Beach. Scott’s students have found work professionally in both Canada and the US, and have been accepted to highly acclaimed theatre programs all over the world.
